Leanna is Counsel with Westaway Law Group, providing litigation, negotiation, and advisory services. Her growing practice includes regulatory law, resource and economic development, negotiation, litigation support, and advising with respect to complex interjurisdictional issues.
Leanna brings her experience and passion for producing high quality legal opinions and arguments to Westaway Law Group. She is committed to supporting all clients in pursuing the fulfillment of their rights and goals.
Leanna articled at a full-service law firm, where she gained experience in business law, family law, and civil litigation. Leanna has successfully represented clients at trial in the Small Claims court of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. She also worked as junior counsel with the Public Inquiry into Long-Term Care Homes.
Leanna graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of English Common Law. Leanna studied with Dr. Tracey Lindberg in a critical Indigenous Legal Theory intensive course. She was selected to participate in the prestigious Dean’s Legal Research and Writing Fellowship, and she volunteered as a clerk/headnote writer for the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. Leanna holds an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.
In her spare time, Leanna enjoys canoeing, gardening, travelling, and trying new restaurants around town.
